    1905 Half Eagle, PR63 Cameo
    Only 108 Minted

    1905 $5 PR63 Cameo NGC. This light yellow-gold Select Cameo proof has satiny devices on mirrored fields with good field-to-device contrast. Faint hairlines and contact marks are hidden by the iridescent overtones. The reverse has a dark stain below the eagle's beak, and a splash of copper toning below the A in STATES. Only 108 proof half eagles were coined in 1905, and perhaps 60 to 70 of those survive in all grades. Census: 3 in 63 Cameo, 12 finer (8/16).
