Elusive 1886 Liberty Nickel, MS64
1886 5C MS64 PCGS. A wonderful Mint State example of this scarce date, one of the most difficult in the series. In fact, the 1885 is more highly regarded, but the 1886 in Mint State is possibly more difficult to locate. And the presence of two such pieces in this sale provides collectors with an extremely important opportunity. This Choice Mint State example has delightful satin luster with pale gold toning on both sides. PCGS has only certified 38 finer examples (9/09).(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22PK, PCGS# 3847, GSID# 2951)
