1886 Liberty Nickel, MS64
Key Issue With Pale, Iridescent Toning
1886 5C MS64 PCGS. The 1886 long lived in the shadow of the
lower-mintage 1885, but in recent years its true rarity has been
realized by collectors. As a result, prices have risen dramatically
for this key issue. This is a lovely piece that has pale,
multicolored toning over each side and strong underlying mint
frost. The only non-Gem "flaw" we see is slight softness of strike
on the design elements.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22PK, PCGS# 3847, GSID# 2951)
