1886 Liberty Nickel, MS65
A Low-Mintage Key
1886 5C MS65 NGC. The 1886 is one of the key dates to the
Liberty Head nickel series. The essentially untoned surfaces of
this Gem yield pleasing frosty luster and are devoid of mentionable
contact marks or spots. Most of the design elements are sharply
struck, except for softness in the upper right star centers and in
the wreath directly left of the bow knot. NGC Census: 26 in 65 (2
in 65+), 7 finer (12/25).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 5/2009), lot 282.(Registry values: N2998)
