Description

Beautiful and Elusive 1886 Nickel, MS65

1886 5C MS65 PCGS. Key dates in the Liberty nickel series, aside from the ultra-rare 1913, include 1885, 1886, and 1912-S. The 1885 and 1886 are both relatively available in proof format, but are elusive in circulation strike format. Of course, such circulation strikes are the only coins available for the 1912-S.
This Gem has brilliant white surfaces with sharp design definition and frosty luster. The obverse has faint die cracks, while the reverse is shattered with numerous peripheral cracks. An amazing piece for the Liberty nickel enthusiast. Population: 32 in 65, 4 finer (8/08).(Registry values: N2998)
