Stunning Gem 1893 Liberty Nickel, MS66 PCGS
1893 5C MS66 PCGS. A stunning specimen with both superior technical merit and remarkable eye appeal. Boldly struck, (save for a couple of the stars), with no weakness noted on the wreath, and with essentially pristine surfaces. Hints of golden color are discerned mostly on the reverse, but this does not impair the effect of the intensely lustrous surfaces. While the 1893 Liberty Nickel is somewhat more frequently encountered in grades ranging up to full Gem than many of the other pre-1900 issues, it is nearly unobtainable finer, with only five examples certified by PCGS at this grade level to date (9/04), and none finer.(#3854) (Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2778, PCGS# 3854, GSID# 2958)
