1897 5C MS67 PCGS Secure. Ex: Rafferty. This is the sole finest 1897 Liberty nickel certified, a must-have item for the Registry Set specialist. Tied for second finest are five MS66+ coins at PCGS and two at NGC (11/17). This piece is satiny and lightly toned in golden and iridescent hues, displaying all of the eye appeal expected of the finest-known example. The only strike weakness seen is on the corn ear to the left of the wreath bow, as normal. A tiny tick on Liberty's eyelid is the only imperfection.
