1898 5C MS65 PCGS. The 189 in the date is repunched. A shimmering, splendidly lustrous Gem, untoned and free of distracting marks. The obverse stars and reverse left ear of corn are softly struck, but the overall Gem quality and eye appeal of the piece seems assured. Population: 72 in 65, 19 finer (8/08).
