Exceptional 1900 Superb Gem Nickel
1900 5C MS67 NGC. Smooth, highly lustrous surfaces are covered with a light coat of pastel apple-green, lilac, powder-blue, and golden-beige toning. The strike is exquisite, and both sides are immaculately preserved. This Superb Gem specimen does not fit the typical profile of poor quality for the date. David Bowers writes in his Shield and Liberty Head nickel book: "... most were made in a careless manner and often show light striking, granular fields, or other problems."
