Description

1912-D Liberty Head Nickel, MS66
Only Denver Issue of the Design Type

1912-D 5C MS66 NGC. The 1912-D Liberty Head nickel is surprisingly difficult to locate in the better grades of Mint State, in spite of its high mintage. The issue is also popular as the only Liberty Head nickel from the Denver Mint. Lovely, iridescent shades of green, lavender and crimson toning enhance both sides of this exquisite specimen. The strike is sharp, with only slight weakness on Liberty's curls and the left ear of corn, as often seen on this issue. Census: 25 in 66, 3 finer (2/10).(Registry values: N1793)
