1912-D Nickel, Pastel-Toned MS66+
None Finer at PCGS
1912-D 5C MS66+ PCGS. Lush waves of pastel lavender, blue,
and gold patina enrich each side of this pristine Superb Gem 1912-D
Liberty nickel, the only Denver issue in the series. The strike is
quite sharp throughout, and the surfaces are free of distraction,
as required. Although the 1912-D is overshadowed by the low-mintage
1912-S, examples in the Plus-designated Premium Gem grade of this
PCGS example are outright rarities. Population: 38 in 66 (3 in
66+), 0 finer (11/15).Ex: Superior Galleries (6/2000), lot 1246; Eugene H. Gardner Collection (Heritage, 6/2014), lot 30161.(Registry values: N1793)
