    Description

1885 5C AU58 PCGS. The 1885 is the key date Liberty nickel with a high visibility among collectors in other U.S. series. Only 1.5 million pieces were struck for circulation and very few were set aside by collectors in any grade. It is also an issue that is so scarce as a business strike that often collectors substitute the much more available proof strikings in a collection. This specimen is sharply struck, with medium golden-tan patina. The surfaces are remarkably clean.
