Description
1899 Nickel, Toned MS67
Perfect for a High-End Registry Set
1899 5C MS67 PCGS. Dusky original toning includes amber-gold
around the borders that cedes to slightly lighter shades of pale
yellow, green, blue, and lilac. Strike definition is nearly
complete, with remarkably strong detail on the lower wreath and on
a majority of the obverse stars. A single tick on Liberty's cheek
almost certainly prevents this coin from asserting itself as the
sole finest for the issue. As it stands, none are numerically
finer. Population: 11 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer (1/20).From The Scherr Family Collection. (Registry values: N2998)
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22PR, PCGS# 3860, Greysheet# 2964)
Weight: 5.00 grams
