Radiant AU 1840-D Quarter Eagle
1840-D $2 1/2 AU50 NGC. Variety 1-A, perhaps best known for the profusion of die cracks running from the centers to the rim. This yellow-gold and orange-gold piece is well struck and surprisingly radiant for the grade. With just 3,532 pieces produced, the 1840-D quarter eagle is elusive in any grade and a rarity at AU and better levels.
