1840-O $2 1/2 MS60 NGC. Small Mintmark. Typically softly struck for the issue, especially on Liberty's hair and the eagle's left (facing) leg. Pleasing satiny luster and lime-gold coloration occur over both sides. "This date is seldom offered and must be considered rare in any grade", according to Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth (2006). Census: 4 in 60, 12 finer (8/07). (Registry values: P2)
