    Description

    1841-C Quarter Eagle, XF40
    Seldom Available Finer Than XF

1841-C $2 1/2 XF40 PCGS. Variety 1. A seldom-seen Charlotte Mint quarter eagle, the 1841-C had a mintage of 10,281 pieces, most of which were heavily circulated. Only 125-175 pieces are estimated to have survived in all grades. Orange-yellow patina covers each side, with brighter areas around the perimeter where there is still luster. The details show nice definition, and the upper stars are sharper than the bottom ones. A shallow scratch is noted between stars 11 and 12, but there are no other marks to report.
