1842-O $2 1/2 AU53 NGC. Representatives of this issue are most often seen in the VF to XF range. AU examples are scarce, and Mint State coins are quite rare. The present AU53 offering displays honey-gold patina with tints of light tan. The design elements exhibit above-average definition, as evidenced by sharp centrils on all stars. Some minor roughness is noted on portions of the rims.(Registry values: P2)
