    Description

    1844 Liberty Quarter Eagle, AU58
    Low-Mintage Condition Rarity

1844 $2 1/2 AU58 NGC. Sharp and lustrous, this near-Mint 1844 is seldom exceeded by certified examples at either service. A small mintage of under 7,000 pieces makes this Philadelphia issue rare -- so much so, it seldom appears at auction in near-Mint or fully Uncirculated condition. Glittering orange-gold surfaces provide ample eye appeal for this AU58 example. A few light marks and a touch of central strike weakness do not diminish the coin's importance or visual impact. NGC Census: (5/5). PCGS Population: (6/3). CDN: $6,000 Whsle. Bid for NGC/PCGS AU58. Mintage 6,784.
