1845 Quarter Eagle, MS63+
High-End Quality for the Grade
1845 $2 1/2 MS63+ PCGS. The number of Mint State grading
events at the services confirms the scarcity of the 1845 quarter
eagle in Select Uncirculated and finer condition. This Select
Uncirculated example is high-end for the grade as indicated by the
Plus designation by PCGS (the sole piece awarded the honor at the
MS63 level). Highly lustrous greenish-gold, partially reflective
surfaces show light abrasions but no heavy marks, while the strike
is sharp except for slight blending on the eagle's leg. Population:
14 in 63 (1 in 63+), 6 finer (1/16).(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25GW, PCGS# 7737, Greysheet# 8266)
