    1846 Quarter Eagle, MS61
    Bright Repunched Date Example

1846 $2 1/2 MS61 NGC. Breen-6181. Repunched Date. The 1846 is surprisingly scarce, especially in Mint State. This bright yellow-gold example is peppered with numerous small abrasions on each side, but the fields are bright and semireflective, adding an extra element of appeal. The strike is sharper than usually seen, showing minor softness on the eagle's plumage. Census: 15 in 61, 5 finer (7/14).(Registry values: P2)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25GZ, PCGS# 7740)

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
