    1846-D Two and a Half
    Uncirculated Details

1846-D $2 1/2 -- Repaired -- PCGS Genuine. Unc. Details. Variety 7-L (formerly 7-K). This is the 1846-D/D variety with the mintmark widely repunched left. However, it is designated as an 1846-D because, in the present later die state, only a trace of the secondary mintmark remains. A well-struck Dahlonega example that retains considerable luster. The reverse field is smoothed near the eagle's head and the E in AMERICA. The obverse rim is repaired near 7 o'clock and the field near the profile displays wispy pinscratches.
