Description
1847 Quarter Eagle, Seldom-Seen MS62
Mintage Under 30,000 Coins
1847 $2 1/2 MS62 NGC. A low-mintage issue of fewer than
30,000 circulation strikes, the 1847 quarter eagle is usually found
no better than AU condition. This yellow-gold example shows one
abrasion out from the coronet between stars 5 and 6, and a small
scrape below the forward bust truncation along with a few
scattered, smaller marks together accounting for the grade. Ample
luster and a bold strike produce good eye appeal. Census: 5 in 62,
4 finer (3/15).(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25H5, PCGS# 7744, Greysheet# 8268)
