Description
1847 Quarter Eagle, Seldom-Seen MS62
Mintage under 30,000 Coins
1847 $2 1/2 MS62 NGC. With a low-mintage production of fewer
than 30,000 circulation strikes, the 1847 quarter eagle is usually
found no better than AU condition. This yellow-gold example shows
one small mark between the coronet star 5, and a small scrape below
the forward bust truncation. A few additional scattered, wispy
marks account for the grade. Ample luster and a bold strike produce
sharp eye appeal. Only a handful of numerically finer pieces exist.
