Description

1847-C $2 1/2 XF40 NGC. Variety 1, the only known variety. The popularity of the 1847-C lies in its relative availability in most grades and subsequent use as a type coin. This bright yellow-gold example shows contrasting russet-gray patina surrounding the devices. A few short field scratches are seen on each side. The strike is a bit soft in the centers.
