    1847-C Quarter Eagle, XF45
The Usual Choice for a C-Mint Type Coin

1847-C $2 1/2 XF45 PCGS. The 1847-C quarter eagle is the most frequently encountered Charlotte issue in the series, and it is also the issue most likely to be found in higher grades. That is good news for type collectors as so many issues are generally unavailable. This Choice XF example has another feature in its favor: original surfaces. Significant portions of each side display significant lilac and reddish-gold color intermixed. The only marks worthy of mention are an angling abrasion on the lower part of the profile of Liberty and a circular planchet flake out of the neck.(Registry values: P2) (NGC ID# 25H6, PCGS# 7745)
