Description

Scarce AU58 1847-O Quarter Eagle

1847-O $2 1/2 AU58 PCGS. The 1847-O quarter eagle is one of the most poorly struck coins from the New Orleans Mint. This scarce near-Mint State example displays above-average definition, as seen on the stars, Liberty's hair, and most of the eagle's plumage. Only the left (facing) leg is soft. Yellow-gold surfaces retain considerable luster and are minimally abraded. Population: 7 in 58, 9 finer (2/10).(Registry values: P2)
