Description

Conditionally Rare 1848 Quarter Eagle MS62

1848 $2 1/2 MS62 NGC. Boldly struck, save for typical partial weakness on the eagle's neck and left (facing) leg feathers, this pleasing Mint State quarter eagle is lustrous and bright, with wheat-gold and lime-green coloration over both sides. Wispy hairlines and a couple of small abrasions limit the grade. A low-mintage issue; rare in Mint State. Census: 5 in 62, 3 finer (8/07). (Registry values: P2)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25H9, PCGS# 7748, Greysheet# 8269)
