Description

1848 $2 1/2 XF45 PCGS. The 1848 quarter had a mintage of 6,500 coins and is scarce in all grades -- even more so than the Charlotte and Dahlonega issues of this year. This Choice XF example displays pleasing detail and lightly abraded yellow-gold surfaces. Hints of luster remain in the reverse fields. Housed in an old green label holder. Population: 10 in 45, 44 finer (3/16).
