A Pleasing Charlotte Type Coin

1848-C $2 1/2 AU53 NGC. Variety 1. The 1848-C is one of the more available C-mint quarter eagles, but it still has limited availability in Almost Uncirculated condition with only 28-36 pieces believed extant. This example has the expected soft definition on Liberty's hair curls and the peripheral stars. The surfaces are bright yellow-gold and there are only minor abrasions in the fields.(Registry values: P2)
