1848-D $2 1/2 AU53 NGC. Variety 10-M. Luminous yellow-orange obverse fields pale to lighter lemon-gold on the portrait, while the reverse has even, dusky orange-gold shadings. A well struck example of this mid-date Dahlonega quarter eagle issue, minimally marked and luminous with light, even wear across the central devices.(Registry values: P2)
