Description
Conditionally Rare 1849-C Quarter Eagle, AU55 ICG
1849-C $2 1/2 AU55 ICG. From a mintage of 10,220 pieces, few of which have survived at this level of preservation. Survivors are usually VF or XF, with AUs prohibitively rare. Bright yellow-gold patina shows pale-green undertones. This sharply detailed example is clearly superior to the average output of this southern branch mint. A scarce opportunity to acquire a decent example. From The Greg and Lesia Hosch Collection.(#7753) (Registry values: P2)
