1850 $2 1/2 MS63 PCGS. This antebellum issue--likely struck mostly from newly mined California gold--was produced to the extent of more than a quarter-million coins, but high-grade examples are scarce. This Select example shows lovely orange-gold coloration and good overall eye appeal. The centers of each side are somewhat softly struck. Population: 14 in 63, 4 finer (6/10).(Registry values: P2)
