1851-C $2 1/2 AU55 NGC. Variety 13-G. The only variety known. The 1851-C has a mintage of just 14,923 pieces, and while that is actually higher than most C-mint quarter eagles, this issue is actually scarcer than most. Delightful olive-yellow patina covers both sides of this minimally marked specimen. The strike is crisp save for minor weakness on a couple of stars and the shield.
