Description
1852-C Quarter Eagle, AU55
Well Struck With Attractive Color
1852-C $2 1/2 AU55 PCGS. Variety 1, the only dies for the
date. The meager mintage of 9,772 pieces makes the 1852-C quarter
eagle a challenging issue in all grades. Experts believe a total of
115-165 examples of the date survive today, with only about 30
specimens qualifying for an AU designation. The present coin is
sharply struck for a C-mint issue, but the surfaces show the
mint-made roughness characteristic of the date. Attractive bright
greenish-gold color enhances the overall visual appeal. Population:
12 in 55, 11 finer (2/10).(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25HS, PCGS# 7764, GSID# 8368)
