Description

1853 $2 1/2 MS64 PCGS. Although common in most grades, the 1853 quarter eagle is seldom seen in Choice Mint State, and is extremely difficult to locate any finer. This minimally marked piece has attractive yellow-gold patina on both sides. The strike is sharp save for a touch of weakness on LIBERTY. Dazzling satiny luster shimmers in the fields and gives this piece great eye appeal. Population: 68 in 64, 5 finer (7/08).(Registry values: P2)
