1853 $2 1/2 MS64 PCGS. Despite a generous mintage of over 1.4 million pieces that was fueled by the California Gold Rush, Mint State examples of the 1853 quarter eagle are elusive. This boldly impressed yellow-orange piece offers strong luster and carefully preserved surfaces. PCGS has graded just five coins finer (8/07).(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25HV, PCGS# 7767, GSID# 8275)
