1854-O $2 1/2 MS62 NGC. CAC. The 1854-O can be located with minimal difficulty in lower grades, but is a rare coin in Mint State. Certified population figures indicate that examples above MS62, the grade of the current offering, are seldom seen. Well struck at the borders, with softness at the centers typical of the New Orleans Mint of the era. Luster dominates all but the open fields. Census: 23 in 62, 2 finer (6/10).(Registry values: P2)
