1856 $2 1/2 MS65 PCGS. CAC. Among pre-Civil War quarter eagle issues, the 1856 is one of the few that is accessible even at the Gem level, though condition rarity is a given in that grade. This example boasts needle-sharp detail and shining yellow-gold surfaces that gain an aura of duskiness close to the rims.
