1859-S $2 1/2 AU58 PCGS. CAC. Luster bathes the borders and devices of this low mintage near-Mint example. Precisely struck and minimally abraded. The hard money economy of California preferred the convenience of double eagles, the reason only 15,200 quarter eagles were struck.
