Description
Appealing AU 1861-S Quarter Eagle
1861-S $2 1/2 AU50 PCGS. The 1861-S today is elusive in all grades and borderline rare in XF or above, despite the recorded mintage of 24,000 pieces. This appealing AU coin displays deep amber-gold coloration on both sides. The strike is soft in the center reverse, but there are few relevant abrasions. Strong eye appeal for this Civil War date.
