Desirable Low-Mintage 1875 Quarter Eagle, AU55
1875 $2 1/2 AU55 PCGS. The 1875 Liberty Head quarter eagle has one of the lowest mintages of any U.S. gold coin (400 circulation strikes), and consequently ranks as one of the most desirable in the series. PCGS and NGC have graded fewer than 60 pieces in all grades, a mere six of which are in Mint State. This Choice AU example displays pleasing yellow-gold surfaces that retain luster in the recessed areas. Sharply struck and minimally abraded.
