1892 $2 1/2 MS67 PCGS....
Description
1892 Quarter Eagle, MS67
Registry-Grade Example
1892 $2 1/2 MS67 PCGS. As a denomination, the quarter eagle
experienced severe neglect beginning in 1880 and lasting for more
than two decades. The 1892 has the smallest quarter eagle business
strike mintage of its decade, just 2,440 pieces, and collecting the
date poses a challenge even for those with the financial
wherewithal to pursue the finest examples. This magnificent Superb
Gem will provide an end to one collector's search. Flashy, swirling
apricot and yellow-gold luster surrounds intricately detailed,
delicately frosted devices. Carefully preserved with incredible eye
appeal. A tiny copper spot at the denticles between the first 2 of
the denomination and the nearby bullet can serve as a pedigree
marker. Population: 6 in 67 (2 in 67+), 0 finer (10/25).Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 5/2004), lot 9154; New York Signature (Heritage, 7/2004), lot 8043; FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2012), lot 4769; Orlando Signature (Heritage, 7/2013), lot 3302.(Registry values: P2)
