Description
Marvelous, Conditionally Rare
1902 Quarter Eagle, MS68
1902 $2 1/2 MS68 NGC. The 1902 quarter eagle, from a mintage
of 133,540 circulation strikes, can be located with little
difficulty through the Gem grade level. Premium and Superb Gems are
more difficult but can still be acquired with a bit of patience and
searching. Specimens in the lofty grade of MS68, however, are
extreme rarities.Scintillating luster radiates from satiny surfaces bathed in lovely yellow-gold patina imbued with tinges of greenish-tan and apricot. The design elements are fully brought up, enhancing even more the marvelous eye appeal. Immaculate preservation characterizes both sides. The only pedigree marker we can locate is a tiny toning spot to the upper right of star 6. A faint die line extends from Liberty's ear to the lower neck. Census: 6 in 68, 0 finer (9/09).(Registry values: N1)
