Description

1847-C Quarter Eagle, AU50
Best Strike Charlotte Issue

1847-C $2 1/2 AU50 PCGS. Winter-1. Original olive-gold patina with coppery-amber overtones in the recesses overlay distraction-free surfaces. The 1847-C is the most available Charlotte quarter eagle issue, with possibly more than 450 pieces extant. It is also one of the best-struck overall, a characteristic which is showcased by the present example, which is only slightly weak on the high points of the design.
