1847-C $2 1/2 AU58 ANACS. Variety 1. This inordinately well-struck Charlotte quarter eagle is void of any indication of highpoint wear, but it is lackluster and has a consistent microgranular texture. The surface appearance is not typical of a coin designated Cleaned, but it is strikingly similar to the "etched" look of sea-salvaged gold pieces. Given its sharpness, this 1847-C quarter eagle remains an important consideration for the Southern gold specialist.

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
