Description

1866 Quarter Eagle, AU58
Only Two Finer Coins at PCGS

1866 $2 1/2 AU58 PCGS. Only 3,110 Liberty quarter eagles were struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1866, making the date scarce-to-rare in all grades today. This otherwise well-detailed, near-Mint specimen shows an area of blankness on the lower reverse, probably caused by a clogged die. Population: 4 in 58, 2 finer (11/20).
