Description

1909-S Lincoln Cent, MS66+ Red

1909-S 1C Lincoln MS66+ Red PCGS. CAC. Although the San Francisco Mint began operations more than 50 years earlier, the first copper coins struck there were the 1908-S and 1909-S Indian cents, followed by the 1909-S V.D.B. Lincoln cents, and finally the 1909-S Lincoln cents. One of the latter is this Premium Gem that is virtually flawless with brilliant golden-orange mint luster. A small mark at the center of the reverse is the grade-limiting factor. PCGS has only certified six finer examples (3/16).(Registry values: N991)
