Description

1909-S VDB Cent, MS65 Brown
Lustrous Key Date Example

1909-S 1C VDB MS65 Brown PCGS. Traces of amber-gold and original mint copper color emerge from the satiny caramel patina of this attractive and desirable 1909-S VDB Lincoln cent. The strike is sharp and the V.D.B. on the reverse is bold, although PLUR of PLURIBUS is slightly soft. Swirling mint luster produces outstanding eye appeal. In Brown, there are only 22 numerically finer pieces plus seven examples in 65+ reported at PCGS as of (6/26). The 1909-S VDB is listed among the 100 Greatest U.S. Coins (#47 in the 6th edition).(Registry values: N1793)
