Description

1909-S VDB Cent, MS65 Red and Brown
Sought-After and Famous Key

1909-S 1C VDB MS65 Red and Brown PCGS. Much more red than brown, it is hard to see at first glance why the Red and Brown color designation was applied by PCGS. Closer inspection reveals faint chestnut hues in the fields. Boldly struck and lustrous, with a blemish-free reverse and a couple of contact marks on the obverse, just to the right of Lincoln's mouth and chin. Listed among the 100 Greatest U.S. Coins.
