1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent, MS66 Red
Green CAC, Green Label Holder

1909-S 1C VDB MS66 Red PCGS. CAC. The Lincoln cent has long been the most widely collected series in United States numismatics, something that may well receive yet another shot of excitement for collectors with the recent 2025 suspension of coinage for the denomination. Even if cent coinage resumes in the future, or if cents continue to appear in proof sets or as commemoratives, all eyes are on this series and its key early dates. The 1909-S VDB is the biggest key in the date and mintmark collection. Its mintage of 484,000 pieces is the lowest in the series, and while the issue was well saved at the time of coinage, high-grade examples are often tightly held. Premium Gem Red coins with CAC endorsement are rare. This piece displays a full strike and luminous copper-orange and golden luster, with pristine surfaces. No obtrusive spots are seen. Housed in a generation 3.1 green label holder. Listed among the 100 Greatest U.S. Coins.(Registry values: N2998)
